Lamar Systems is announcing a new alliance that expands the delivery options of the MPEG4/h.264 encoded video, data and audio solutions currently offered by Lamar. By teaming up with MAYAH Communications of Hallbergmoos Germany, whose audio video encoder/decoder is designed for 24/7 operation, Lamar Systems extends its commitment to offering the highest quality, most reliable video solutions to its customers.
MAYAH’s embedded real-time OS guarantees solid, error proof operation for low latency applications (<500ms for "end to end") making it a good fit with Lamar’s existing embedded stand alone streaming codecs. Full interoperability is obtained with the ISMA compliant streaming (QTime, WinMedia, Real, VLC, a variety of settop boxes etc.) found with the Lamar-MAYAH solution.
With full broadcast quality D1 @ 768x576/480 for PAL/NTSC, and up to 25/30fps, the [io]8000 MPEG-4 attains the quality of MPEG-2 solutions at less than half the bit rate. This allows for a huge cost reduction in the used network lines (E1/T1, IP over satellite, ATM etc.) with possible return of investments in less than a couple of weeks or months.
With the outstanding reception we received at NAB 2005 we know that this new relationship we have with MAYAH will be advantageous both for Lamar Systems and our customers.
