Mayah’s new IO [io] 8000 series
codecs are taking MPEG-4 to the
next level in terms of picture quality
at full D1 PAL/NTSC resolutions starting
at 1.2 Mbit/s. When running as an encoder
the IO [io] 8000 offers SP/ASP and AVC* / H.264* encoding including automatic scene change detection as well as HSS. As Mayah is looking back at years of experience in IP based solutions we also support QoS / Diff.Serv. to give a stream the highest priorization possible in a LAN/WAN or „IP over satellite“ scenario.
The IO [io] 8000 AD Pro can also run as a decoder thus offering high flexibility as well as a save investment. The IO [io] 8000‘s extremely low latency in the range of 250-500 ms for „end to end“ IP based connections make it the ideal tool for „live“ situations. Whenever changes are applied to the encoder settings the IO [io] 8000 running as a decoder will automatically follow the encoder settings. This is accomplished thru the support of SAP (session announcement protocol). The IO[io]8000 series codec can be controlled from anywhere in the world using Mayah’s remote software or Telnet/SNMP.
The IO[io]8000 AD Pro supports both analog video in/outs as well as SDI video in/out offering total flexibility regarding all cmbinations of AD / DA conversions independently for audio and video. E.g. this means you can encode with SDI, embedded audio and decode the video using the composite analog BNC out and have the audio on the AES/EBU out.
The IO [io] 8000 series codecs allow you to bring down the bit rate by half over MPEG-2 based solutions offering an excellent return of investment thru greatly reduced costs for the lines
